How 2 independent grocers are using facial recognition to combat theft

Two independent grocers in Washington state—Fiesta Foods and a Grocery Outlet store—used the SAFR Guard facial recognition system from RealNetworks to significantly reduce losses from in-store theft. Operators said the system not only deterred repeat offenders but also helped track employee attendance, while also having to address customer privacy concerns.
