Smith's Food & Drugs Appoints Jordan Poff as Vice President of Merchandising
Smith's Food & Drugs, a Kroger banner, has named Jordan Poff as its new vice president of merchandising, effective Sept. 1. Poff, who joined Kroger in 2005, will succeed Bryan Sant, who is retiring at the end of August after four decades with the company.
Smith's Food & Drugs has promoted company veteran Jordan Poff to vice president of merchandising, effective Sept. 1, parent company Kroger confirmed to Grocery Dive on Monday.
Poff, who currently serves as Smith's vice president of retail operations, joined Kroger in 2005 as a courtesy clerk in the company's Cincinnati/Dayton division. Over the years, he advanced through multiple roles, eventually rising to vice president of retail operations and e-commerce operations, according to Kroger.
In 2020, Poff led the planning and launch of Kroger's first Grocery Pickup Center, as reported by Utah Business. In mid-2025, Poff moved to Smith's to head up the banner's retail operations.
Poff will succeed Bryan Sant, who is retiring at the end of August. In a LinkedIn post, Poff noted that Sant is retiring after a 40-year career.
“Bryan's impact goes far beyond the business. His leadership, relationships, passion for our people and commitment to Smith's have helped shape this division for decades. I've learned a tremendous amount working alongside him, and while I'm excited for what's ahead, he will be greatly missed. I have some big shoes to fill,” Poff wrote in the post.
Smith's Food & Drugs operates approximately 145 stores across seven Western states, according to its website.
